Time to Speak Up

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for US36 was released in August and the end of the public comment period is Monday September 17th. The last public hearing on the DEIS is this Thursday at the East Boulder Community Center (5660 Sioux Dr).
You can even snail mail a comment to:
US 36 Mobility Partnership
c/o CDR Associates
100 Arapahoe Ave, Suite 12
Boulder, CO 80302
If you are concerned with development in our community, I urge you to take the time to review the DEIS and comment. Comments are reviewed and become part of the public record. In a former life, I worked with a consulting company that facilitated public/EPA interaction and the public comments were very important to the process. You may want to read how the EPA rates a draft EIS and shape your comments appropriately.
The consulting firm managing the process provided the following comment guidelines:
- Input on the alternative packages including issues, concerns and preferences.
- Identification of package elements that you support.
- Issues that need to be addressed in a greater level of detail in subsequent phases of the EIS.
- Any other questions or comments you may have.
