Season’s Greetings!
by Osman Parvez As the year draws to a close and holiday parties wrap up in Boulder, I'm reminded of our community's diversity. This year, I've attended celebrations for Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice, Christmas, Giftmas, Kwanzaa, Eid, and yes even Festivus. People from outside of Boulder sometimes say that our community lacks diversity. The truth is that diversity goes deeper than skin color and much further than ethnicity. Diversity of thought, tradition, and belief are, in some ways, more important. In this sense, Boulder is wonderfully open minded and rich with diversity. Gratitude, even for our [...]
Water, Water Everywhere
by Osman Parvez Just a quick public service bulletin to my clients and friends. If you haven't already removed hoses from the faucets of your house, please do so now. The forecast low tonight is 17 degrees in Boulder. As my friend Bob put it, we've had enough flooding this year. Water: beautiful and so destructive image: familymwr --- Like this analysis? Welcome to House Einstein
by Osman Parvez “Must a name mean something?" Alice asked doubtfully. Of course it must," Humpty Dumpty said with a short laugh; "my name means the shape I am - and a good handsome shape it is, too. With a name like yours, you might be any shape, almost.” ― Lewis Carroll It's time to make some changes, starting with a name. The Silver Fern blog is now House Einstein. It's a name that means the shape we are, a good handsome shape it is too. In the coming weeks, expect a new look and feel. [...]
Tanta’s Passing
by Osman Parvez ---- This morning, I learned of a very sad event. Tanta, coauthor of economics blog Calculated Risk, passed away from ovarian cancer yesterday morning. I've been a fan of Calculated Risk since I first stumbled upon it several years ago and her blogging was always quite excellent. Although I didn't know her personally, she was clearly a very smart, deeply insightful person and her contributions to greater knowledge will be missed. More information on Tanta's passing can be found on Calculated Risk. ---- Want to get blog updates via email? Click HERE. Ready to [...]
Welcome Aboard Evan
by Osman Parvez ---- I'd like to introduce an addition to the team. Evan joined us about a month ago as our research associate. He's been an invaluable resource in the development of better quality content on the blog as well as helping us serve our clients to a higher standard. Evan is engineering student at the University of Colorado. Born in Denver, he loves his family and always seeks diverse experiences. He believes in accountability and often reminds himself to work just a little bit harder for a little bit longer. We feel lucky to have Evan on the [...]
We Love Boulder Outdoor Cinema
by Osman Parvez ---- Ahh... the smell of fresh, buttery popcorn. The dark air conditioned theater. The flickering screen. It was magical. This is what comes to mind when I think about my early memories of going to the movies. That and waiting in line for Star Wars. Now you can rediscover the magic of going to the movies through Boulder Outdoor Cinema. It's a Summer tradition. We like to pack a picnic dinner, bring a bottle of wine (against the rules, shhh), and invite a few friends. It's a great way to bring people together and always a fun [...]
Introducing Joanne Hanson
by Osman Parvez ---- House Einstein is excited to announce our first guest blogger, Joanne Hanson. Joanne was born in New Zealand and is a Kiwi. Even though her family moved to the US when she was a child, she still has strong ties to the country and visits frequently. After living in various parts of the US, raising her family in Kansas City, Joanne settled in Colorado in 1986. Now a Realtor in Summit County, Joanne has owned property there for 20 years and lived in Silverthorne full time for almost 15 years. Working with Coldwell Banker Colorado Rockies [...]
Dare to Bare
by Osman Parvez Comments, that is. A few weeks ago I opened up the comment system on this blog. Anyone can now post a comment. You can also be anonymous, if you'd prefer and no registration is required. Previously, comments on this blog were moderated and wouldn't appear until I approved them. I wanted to avoid spam and inappropriate/rude messages from being posted. Then I realized that this was also inhibiting readers from saying what they wanted. So I decided that as long as I responded professionally to whatever was posted, having an open comment system could only create more [...]
Updated Website
by Osman Parvez ---- After some deliberation and hard work by the team, we're proud to introduce our new site. Recognizing that search is the #1 reason people visit our site and that ease of navigation is critical, we made some fairly substantial changes. This research blog will continue to be hosted at blogspot(blogger.com), although we may integrate under the main site down the road. If you have a moment, we'd love your thoughts on the improvements. We're also mighty pleased with the super responsiveness of Daniel Mitchell (our designer/CSS guru) and Jeff Kast at IDXBroker. Thanks for your hard [...]

You Want Boulder Listings? YOU GOT IT!
by Osman Parvez Taking advantage of changes in IDX listing availability, today we've added full MLS Boulder listing search capability at Realty Unique. This morning the system went live. We hope it makes it much easier to find the exact home you're are looking for. On the site, you can search for property, sign up for listing alerts, and more. Plus, there's the usual best buys, featured listings, and resources. By creating a way for our clients to search for property via our website, we can now handle the full experience from soup to nuts (as they say) and that [...]
