Home of the Free, Because of the Brave

As we enter into the weekend, community festivities, family gatherings, and celebrations commence in Boulder, CO. Here at House Einstein, we're all for celebrating, but it's important to recognize what this holiday is really about. It's about remembering and honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country with the United States military.  Abraham Lincoln said it best: "The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here [...]

The purpose of the holiday is to recognize and honor the brave men and women who died in service to our country.  In many ways, being an American is a privilege. We have freedoms and opportunities that people in other parts of the world can only dream of, especially in beautiful places like Boulder. It wouldn't be possible without those who made the ultimate sacrifice.   There are a lot of things going on in Boulder today, including the BB10K, and countless gatherings of family and friends. Bidding Wars, Opportunity Cost and Tricky Agency Agreements [Meetup]

by Osman Parvez ---- Bidding wars are common in Boulder real estate.   If you've been in the market during the last year or two, you know what I'm talking about.  Priced right, homes in certain locations draw multiple offers and often exceed asking.     A transparent market benefits the consumer.   Too bad it doesn't exist. In Boulder, you're dealing with an unequal playing field.   Market participants have differing access to information. Realtors have varying skill levels.    If you're planning to buy or sell this year, you don't want to miss this month's Boulder Real Estate [...]

Memorial Day Weekend

by Osman Parvez First enacted to honor fallen Union soldiers from the Civil War, Memorial Day now honors casualties from any U.S. War. If you have a moment, it's worth reading the historical background of this holiday. In addition to events which honor those who died in military service, there's a lot of stuff happening this weekend... including the Ginormous Plant Sale, Boulder Creek Festival, and Bolder Boulder 10K. The Memorial Day tribute in Folsom Field is scheduled for around 11:30 AM. I hope everyone has a safe and happy long weekend. image: Stephen Moore ---- Like this analysis?   [...]

Followup on Martin Acres House Tour

by Osman Parvez ---- Now that the 2009 Martin Acres House Tour is behind us, here's a few quick observations: - Attendance was great, possibly a record. Although there were some clouds in the morning, it cleared up and the sunshine brought out a crowd. - The houses on the tour offered plenty of food for thought. Over the years, owners have made their properties so much more livable, adding space and functionality in many different ways (and usually for less than I would have expected). I walked away with at least a dozen ideas on how to do the [...]

Testimonials

Osman was a refreshingly honest realtor. He stressed through the entire process that his goal was to make me happy with my home purchase. I greatly appreciated the fact that he never shied away from pointing out the negatives as well as the pluses of different places while leaving the final decision up to me.

We can highly recommend Sophie. Her attention to detail and communication skills are great. Our home was in area that most realtors are not familiar with, but Sophie took extra time to get to know the neighborhood in order to give us quality service. She also brought in a professional photographer to make our home look its best. Even though the listing was in winter, the house sold quickly. With Sophie’s business and people skills, we have no doubt she will be a top realtor in the area.
